In a concerted effort to bolster their technological collaboration, Saudi Arabia and South Korea have pledged to expand their joint work in artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and technology investments. This commitment was highlighted during a series of high-level meetings in Seoul, where Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Al-Swaha, along with Haytham Al-Ohali, Governor of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, engaged with senior South Korean officials.

The discussions between the two nations centered on fostering innovation, enhancing the digital economy, and propelling Saudi Arabia’s vision of emerging as a global leader in artificial intelligence. The Saudi delegation explored opportunities in AI, semiconductors, and digital infrastructure, aiming for advancements that would support both nations’ technological goals.

Moreover, talks were held to improve digital government services, focusing on the integration of unified government platforms, digital identity systems, and AI-powered public service enhancements. The discussions also involved potential collaboration between Saudi Arabia’s Digital Government Authority and South Korea’s Ministry of the Interior, underscoring a mutual interest in refining digital governance.

Further expanding on investment prospects, Al-Swaha met with the founder and CEO of APL Ventures. Their dialogue revolved around identifying investment opportunities, supporting Saudi startups, and strategies to increase their global market presence. This includes encouraging technology investments within the Kingdom, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s strategic objectives.

This visit is an integral component of Saudi Arabia’s broader initiative to forge global technology partnerships, attract significant investments, and expedite the growth of a digitally-driven economy powered by artificial intelligence. Through these efforts, the Kingdom seeks to cement its status as a central player in the global tech landscape.
