Amid global economic uncertainty, South Korea and Japan are striving to enhance their economic ties, particularly in the realm of advanced industries. South Korean President Lee Jae Myung underscored the importance of this cooperation during a meeting with a Japanese business delegation in Seoul, led by Yoshinobu Tsutsui, chairman of the Japan Business Federation.

President Lee emphasized the critical role that robust supply chains play in the economic stability and growth of both nations. He noted the significant contributions made by the business communities of South Korea and Japan to their respective economies and called for a future-oriented approach to expand bilateral cooperation. Lee also highlighted that enhancing business partnerships, along with people-to-people exchanges and diplomatic engagements, could improve public sentiment and create more opportunities for economic collaboration.

Yoshinobu Tsutsui echoed these sentiments, stressing the necessity for like-minded countries to collaborate in addressing global economic challenges. He reassured that businesses from both Japan and South Korea would continue their efforts to work closely together.

The Japanese delegation’s visit to Seoul was part of the 33rd annual meeting between the Japan Business Federation and South Korea’s Federation of Korean Industries. This meeting serves as a platform for business leaders from the two nations to discuss economic ties and explore opportunities for further cooperation.
