by admin477351

In a gesture of solidarity and support, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung visited three soldiers who were injured in recent land mine explosions near the Demilitarized Zone. The visit took place at the Armed Forces Capital Hospital in Seongnam, where President Lee met with the injured servicemen and their families, pledging comprehensive support for their recovery and future military service.

The soldiers sustained injuries on September 21 during a route-clearance operation south of the Military Demarcation Line in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. The South Korean military’s assessment indicates that the explosions were caused by land mines planted by North Korea as part of its border fortification efforts. However, North Korea has denied this assertion, prompting South Korea to call for a thorough investigation and accountability measures concerning the incident.

During his hospital visit, President Lee emphasized the importance of providing the soldiers with adequate medical care and rehabilitation. He also underscored the commitment to ensuring that the injured soldiers receive the necessary support to continue their military careers once they have recovered.

In light of the incident, President Lee has instructed officials to conduct a detailed investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the explosions. He also called for a review of appropriate support and compensation for the affected service members, reflecting the government’s dedication to their welfare and rehabilitation.
