As Russia wrapped up its parliamentary elections, a large-scale drone attack by Ukraine targeted Moscow and its surrounding areas, intensifying the ongoing conflict between the two nations. The assault, which took place on the final day of the elections, resulted in the deaths of at least three individuals and significant damage to an oil refinery, according to Russian authorities.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that over 1,600 drones had been intercepted since the onset of the attacks on Saturday, with around 450 directed towards the capital. Despite these defense efforts, several drones managed to reach the Moscow Oil Refinery, and a residential building in the region suffered damage, necessitating the evacuation of approximately 400 residents from a 21-storey apartment complex.
